The Senior Accounting Manager role is an extremely exciting and unique one at Udemy! The role reports directly to the Assistant Controller and will be a key decision-maker and influencer as Udemy matures its processes as a high-growth, public company! This position will be hands-on, developing best-in-class policies and processes and tightening up the close timetable. Interaction and coordination with colleagues in FP&A, Tax, Legal, HR, and various other departments across the Company to ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate financial results.

• Manage various aspects of GL Accounting (AP, T&E, Accruals, key balance sheet reserves, payroll, benefits, commissions, bonus and equity accounting, roll-forwards and account reconciliations, etc.)
• Provide coaching, training, and guidance to new and existing staff as well as career mentorship on an ongoing basis
• Manage a team of 5 accounting professionals (and growing!!)
• Lead the initiative to reduce month-end close efforts and develop strategies to improve accounting operations efficiencies, effectiveness, and scalability, including the development and execution of policy, processes, and systems changes
• Collaborate with the SOX team to ensure a robust and effective controls environment. Continuous improvement is a must!
• Support external audit requirements on a quarterly and annual basis
• Review monthly reporting, perform variance analysis, and investigate differences; support the FP&A team on explaining results

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
• 4+ years of management experience and experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm
• Experience in NetSuite preferred
• Strong experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP and SOX internal controls
• Proven ability to work across many departments with varying levels of staff and management to solve problems and achieve results
• Strong analytical skills, efficient, self-motivated with the ability to follow through and implement process improvement
