In conjunction with the Nurse Practitioner, the Intake Coordinator is responsible for coordination and scheduling of Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC) nursing visits, tracking nurse administered infusions and authorizations, timely clearance of new referrals, and purchasing and procurement and management of AIC supplies and drugs in the warehouse. * Coordinates and tracks regularly scheduled nursing visits.
* Collaborates with Nurse Practitioner and Pharmacy staff to schedule visits and orders.
* Takes MosAIC infusion Therapy referrals from referral sources.
* Ensures that all intake forms are complete and accurate.
* Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
* Communicates with Nurse Practitioner and Pharmacy regarding the status of referrals.
* Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
* Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
* Stocks and stores warehouse equipment and supplies
* Reports stock levels to supervisor
* High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or some college preferred
* Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures
* Preferred experience in warehousing or distribution inventory management
* Good organizational and time management skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Computer proficiency
